Duration of registration is measured as the time the job seeker has been registered with Centrelink. During this time, job seekers may have changed their Centrelink payment type.

These data include Non-Allowee clients. The Non-Allowee unemployment duration is measured from the time the job seeker registered with Centrelink seeking employment assistance.

Data at the Employment Service Area (ESA) and Labour Market Region (LMR) levels are estimates derived by summing administrative data at the postcode level of aggregation. For the few postcodes that do not fall entirely within a single ESA, a population-weighted concordance method is used to distribute the postcode data between the overlapped ESAs. For these ESAs and their parent LMRs, the concordance method may lead to small errors in the estimates.

Please note, a more complete measure of unemployment duration is provided by the ABS.
